In Ipswitch´s knowledge base, under the ¨Mail is stuck in the queue¨
problem, one of the posible causes is:

3) It may be a problem with resolving the hostnames in outgoing mail.
Make sure you have the IP address of a working DNS server in the Domain
Name Server field. Make sure you can ping the DNS address from the IMail
PC. (Use the DNS Lookup utility to make sure that your DNS is working.)

Is it completely necessary to be able to ping the DNS for IMAIL to work
properly? I mean, the PING could be filtered, and still the DNS be working,
right?
