Chris,
If it works via local access, then IMail is probably OK. Since you only seem
to have problems via some other 'route' to the host, I would suspect some
network problems and/or the possibility of a proxy or firewall in the route.
Proxies/firewalls can cause the IP address in the packet to be changed and
IMail checks for this. There is a setting in Web Server, 'Ignore Source
Address in Security check', that you can enable, that often helps. If you
have a very early V5 (pre 5.04?), you might not even find the setting.
If that does not help, the only other thing that might is to collect IMail
logs (w2*.*), showing a 'good' and 'bad' session to see what is different.
Are the same computers/browsers used for both connections? I suspect not, so
that could mean some differences in the browser and/or its settings, might
also be contributing to the trouble. What is the machine and the browser
used?
