i had this type of problem with an earlier version. No matter what
i did it would not work.  Finally i noticed that my virtual host
directory did not have a "web" sub directory and this solved the
problem.

This is an old bug so may not help you but it is worth looking
into. Also make sure that there is No trailing "/" on your host
directory path when you are in the imail administator. This messes
some thins up as well.
