I don't know in practice. I think you'll find some people running
big, exclusively web mail servers on the www.HKSI.net list for the
HKSI web mail templates.

This doesn't work with Imail. Imail's domain and users are local to
each Imail machine, and several Imail machines cannot share a common backend.
