There's nothing special about an attachment, it's just part of the
text in the message with certain conventions which allow an email
client to recognize and present parts of the message as "attachments".
See the RFCs referenced at http://www.imc.org/rfcs.html if you're
interested in the details.
You can make IMail forward a copy of every mail message received to
another account and then write a program that parses the messages
looking for "attachments".
