Keep the Unix box in the DMZ as "bastion mail host" but convert it be 
"relay only" hub, ie, no local mailboxes.

Set up Imail behind the firewall so that it forwards all outbound to 
the Unix box for delivery (I assume the Unix box has access to a DNS 
also outside of the firewall), and have the unix box forward all 
inbound to Imail.
