Let me guess, the email had an empty body and was originally sent using
Outlook/Outlook Express??
Something as simple as a missing 'blank line' separating the header from the
actual text body, can be enough to cause problems. If one includes even one
word (character?) of text in the body, you may find the problem 'goes away'.
I have seen your 'solution' work myself and it is the easiest way to 'fix'
this problem (at your end) if the sender client has this kind of problem and
the user does not include some text.
