yes, for your ip addresses, a 2nd Imail machine as relay for the
domains on the down Imail or a relay hub like IMGate, could keep
sending mail but the pb is your users will have their mail pgms "smtp
server" pointing at the ip or hostname of the down Imail box.
It's easier for incoming, just the old MX trick.
imo, the best is to be ready to bring up the primary Imail server
asap, while investing in its internal redundancy such as redundant
pwr supplies and RAID1 mirrored disks. Those are the two key failure items.
