Delivery is 'done' when all addresses accept delivery, or reject, or after
some number of tries (SMTP setting).
Yes, the presence of the .lst files is a good indicator that at least some
addresses have not yet gotten the email. You can use the View Queue to look
at those files and see who they are From and To, and if from your list, then
you know that all have not been delivered. Look at the To and you will see
which addresses they are. I'm pretty sure that you will find most of these
files have just a few addresses. And if you look at the number of Tries, you
should see something like 1-4 tries by now, for each message. That probably
means that IMail is having some difficulty delivering to the addresses. Need
to check log files to learn more about why.
If when you ask 'how to speed up', you mean cause IMail to complete faster,
best thing you can do is get rid of addresses that are bouncing or not
accepting the message. If IMail does not have to process 'bad addresses' it
will finish up much faster! IMail will, by default, try up to 20 times,
before giving up and bouncing to the list owner. With the default Queue
Timer (30 mins) setting, this can take up to 10 hours or more.
I'm almost sure that you will find that IMail has delivered to 90%+++ of the
addresses and what is left are either 'bad' or their host servers are down.
Some domains will also have DNS problems.
What do you have set for the 'Number or recipient's for that list? The
default is 25 which would put 80 messages in the queue and IMail has only 30
delivery processes (that can be changed, see KB!). I'd suggest you change
the 'Recipient's to 100 - 200 so no more than 20 or 10 files are in the
queue. This will leave delivery processes for your other mail.
