Well, I have heard of a very few instances where this setting 'changed' for
no apparent reason, but not sure how or why. I have see it reset upon and
install of IMail, back a long time ago, but that does not appear to be your
situation. The only other thought I have is that someone changed it, but
never hit the Apply button so it appears as unchanged, but was really.
Yes, if you add a new address to a standard alias that already has 4, it
will change it to a Group Alias. That change could be enough for you not to
have needed the SMTP setting before, but need it now!
