Don't let McAfee sucker you into buying one of their expensive mail server products or
enterprise-wide versions. If you talk to their sales reps, and use the key word "mail
server", dollar signs pop into their heads. All you need is their "VirusScan"
product, which is about $20-$30 for NT/2000 Workstation, or $60 for NT/2000 Server.
The server version is well hidden on their web site, and may not be available online
for delivery outside the US, but it does the job.
If you talk to someone on the phone at McAfee, it's best not to explain what you are
doing, but just say something like "Someone told me to order the MultiPlatform version
of VirusScan" (if you are running NT/2000 Server). The Workstation version can be
picked up at a local store, or through the web.

If you are running Win2000 Server, you need their "MultiPlatform" version of VirusScan
(~US$60). The standard VirusScan program is designed not to install on Win2000
Server.

FYI, one word of warning about F-Prot: The latest version (3.09) that was just
released has a serious flaw in it that causes the virus scanner to never end. If you
run v3.09 or later, you need to delete the "F-Prot.PIF" file to fix the problem.
Other than that, F-Prot has done well for many of our customers.
