There isn't much information.  There is no API, and no details on the .UID/.SRT files 
(although you can figure out most/all of the details by examining them).

I believe you can safely manipulate the mailbox files, *if* you lock them first.  To 
see how IMail locks the files, get a large mailbox with lots of E-mail (several 
megabytes, so it will take a few seconds), delete one of the E-mails, and look at what 
files are created.  That will give you some insight.

I don't believe there is a way to access user information directly through IMail.
