I am having a strange problem with my IMail server. Users in virtual IPless domains cannot receive mail from some servers. Let's say host.maindomain.com is my server, and [EMAIL PROTECTED] is a user on a virtual IPless domain on my server. Most e-mail for this user goes through. I can send e-mail to this user from the maindomain. If you look in the logs, a normal message being sent to the user will happen like so: EHOL remotemailserver.remotedomain.com MAIL FROM: [EMAIL PROTECTED] RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Here the message would reach the user just fine. How ever, some e-mail servers are doing something very strange when trying to deliver a message to this user. The one I am seeing the most is aol.com. Their message server would cause the following events in the log: EHLO imo-m01.mx.aol.com MAIL FROM: [EMAIL PROTECTED] RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ERR host.maindomain.com invalid user <[EMAIL PROTECTED] So you see, some mail servers are replacing the @virtualdom.com with the actual host name of the server. This is of course causing an invalid user error message, as vuser is @virtualdom.com, not @host.maindomain.com. I have read through the knowledge base and double checked all the settings on the server. For the virtualdom there is an MX record pointing to host.maindomain.com. In the virtualdom's config there is an alias for virtualdom.com. Things seems to be setup right for the most part, as at least 80% of the user's messages make it through. The user can send messages just fine. It is just a small number of mail servers that are causing this problem. So, how can I fix this problem? What have I over looked? Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated! I have gone through my server configs several times and still can't find the problem!!
