Computerized Horizons is pleased to announce that we have just released a
new program for IMail, Declude Confirm. This program prevents the
"undesirables" of the Internet from signing up anyone they want for a
mailing list hosted on the IMail server, or sending mail to the list
without providing a valid E-mail address. It also will help prevent you
from getting listed in the RBL spam database, which includes servers with
mailing lists that do not require confirmations.
As RBL says, "Prudent mailing list management mandates verification of all
subscription requests before mailings commence. Many well-meaning list
managers have found themselves in the spamming business when they
don't confirm subscriptions".
This program is amazingly simple. All you do is install it (it takes about
2 minutes) and you're done. There's no need to create accounts or aliases
or create a list of your mailing lists. After the installation, Declude
Confirm takes care of everything, and no maintainance is required.
The operation for your end users is just as easy. After they send their
"subscribe" (or "unsubscribe") E-mail, they will receive a confirmation
that they need to reply to. The confirmation is in the subject, so they
don't have to worry about quoting certain parts of body; simply replying
works fine with any mail client.
