OK...

I'm going to have to move my mail server to a new location/IP. I only have 1
production box.

Would it work if I set up a second box with no users...

Take that one to where my box is currently... Put it on my current IP....
And set it up with the new IP for the Gate Host (Imail 6.06 > localhost >
general tab). Then I would move my production box to the new IP/location and
put it on....

Then update my dns to the new IP.... So then until it has updated through
out the internet - any mail that gets sent to the old box would then be
passed onto the new one (by IP). And I just tell my users (only about 20- 30
of them) to use the IP of the new server as their POP/SMTP server? And once
the dns has completely updated, I can then pull out the other temp box?

Does this make sense? And if I am misunderstanding the the term "gate host",
is there a way to do this in Imail 6.06?

I don't have access to my TTL settings.... And even as Scott (at least I
think it was him) had mentioned in a different post earlier... Even lowering
the settings, can still take weeks depending on the time cached.

Thanks.

Dustin
