This is off topic but there are so many knowledable admins on this list I thought I'd throw this question out. We have a series of batch file that create NT users on STANDALONE servers as well as other functions related to accounts setup (create directories, set permissions, etc). These batch files utilize several utilities from the resource kit. Finally the question. We initiate these batch files from a central computer which either performs the setup directly on the remote STANDALONE computer using net shares or creates batch files that are copies to the local computer to be run on that machine as part of a scheduled process. One of the commands is the ADDUSERS command which is part of a batch to run locally on the target computer. It doesn't work and I think its due to rights but I'm pulling my hair out trying to get the right combination. When this batch file runs (according to CRON (ported to NT... check out AINTX at http://maxx.mc.net/~jlh/nttools/html/nttools.htm)). The ADDUSERS does not work (even when it runs while ADMIN user is logged in), but the rest of the batch runs without a hitch. If I manually run this batch from that STANDALONE computer (logged in as ADMIN) the whole script works great! I've got CRON running as ADMIN equivalent, I've given the CRON user "Log on as batch job" rights and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? What am I missing? Thanks for the feedback.
