Hello,
I run iMail 7.03 on a Win2000 server. I also run MS SMTP (changed to port
26) for use with some of our CDONTs ASP programming. We now have moved over
a client that needs to send email for confirmations and order placement
generated from a CGI script. We used Blat on this script when the site was
on an NT machine and it worked great. I never did the Blat installation and
can not seem to get it working on the Win2000 server. The installation
instructions are confusing as it asks to place the blat.exe app in the win32
directory and then run it with information about your SMTP server.

_____________________________________________
Copy the file Blat.exe to your \WINNT\SYSTEM32 directory, or to any other
directory in your path.
2. Run Blat -install yourhost.site.blah.blah [EMAIL PROTECTED],
where yourhost.site.blah.blah is the address of your SMTP server and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] is the default From: address.

I tried the install from the RUN command and even tried the install from the
Blat directory (yes I duplicated the file to both locations) using:

>From the RUN prompt:
Blat -install smtp.sgdesign.net [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Also tried From the RUN prompt:
C:\Blat\blat.exe -install smtp.sgdesign.net [EMAIL PROTECTED]

No errors were given and the CGI script acts like it is happy generating no
errors but no email is ever sent.

Has anyone ran into similar problems and found a resolution?

Thanks for any and all help,

Steve

Does this make sense to anyone that has done a similar installation?
