We're not yet using Imail. I'm on this list to see the "challenges" people have and learn before we move forward. (Also waiting for a 4 day late returned phone call from Ipswitch too :))
One of the problems we have is that spammers often spoof our domain name in return addresses. They are not using our smtp (we have relays closed) We have our software set to return mail to sender when the user on our sytem is unknown and not to log it. However, I'm dealing with headache after headache because the returned mail is bouncing back and will often get into a loop. Even though we have logging turned off for unknown users, when we get hit, the loops end up bloating our logs. This is one of the reasons that we're looking at other mail server options - to see if there is a better option for dealing with this. Have any of you ran into a similar problem with IMail? Is there a way within Imail to stop this? Is there an easy way within Imail to trace the smtp that the spoofing is coming from? (Since these undeliverable emails never have the same address - they are randomly generated characters, I can't set up an account to receive the bounced email back to look at it.)
