Hello everyone,

We are recently installed Imail 6.06 in a Win 2k server platform and we are
currently unable to recieve mail. When we checked iMonitor is gives us TCP
14 error and displays that the services are down. We checked the Knowledge
base and found only one article
(http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-19990825-DM02.htm) that talks about this
problem code which states the following:

===============================================
Question/Problem: I see a TCP 14 (or TCP -1) SMTP Service Down error from
the Monitor program.
Answer/Solution: This may be evidence of a port conflict for port 25. If
you have IIS installed on the same server you may need to stop Microsoft's
SMTP or to change the port on which Microsoft's SMTP is listening.

Stop and/or restart the SMTP service (IMail Administrator | localhost |
SMTP). In version 7.0 find services under IMail Administrator | localhost |
Services.
(In versions before 6.0 Control Panel | IMail Server | SMTP.)

If this does not clear the error try removing and reinstalling both the SMTP
and the Monitor services at a DOS prompt:

cd /imail

net stop smtpd32
smtpd32 -remove
smtpd32 -install

net stop imonitor
imonitor -remove
imonitor -install

The error can also be caused by insufficient disk space in the \imail\spool
directory.

==============================================

The solution asks that we stop Microsoft's SMTP service but the service was
never installed on the server. Regardless, we went ahead and followed the
directions to remove and reinstall both the SMTP and the Monitor services at
a DOS prompt and it did not work. Our mail is pointing to
mail.securenethost.com. Any ideas in resolving this issue?

Thanks in advance,

J. gomez
