Consider using F-Prot. The price is inconsequential, the combination is rock solid, and you get the reporting you want.
If you still feel more comfortable with Sophos as a "bigger name" provider, use both and put Sophos second in line. Then for 99.9999999% of your messages you'll get your reporting. For the (unlikely) infection that F-Prot might not catch, Sophos will still be there to catch it(if it can), sans reporting. I use three scanners with Declude at a major client. F-Prot is first in line, and nothing has fallen through for the others to catch. The approach is really just to give the client warm-fuzzy feelings. I implemented this way originally because F-Prot was something of an unknown, but I wanted the mail scanned by something different than the desktop scanner. I sold the "multi-scanner" approach and it went over very well.
