don't take this as a solid answer but I had spoke with tech support about a year ago when i was in the process of moving and wanted to maintain mail at both locations, and they kinda just said, install Imail on the other box and so on, they never did say oh and you have to get another license or anything like that, but the I would think that my situation then would be near the same as making a new imail for backup purposes and they just spoke on the premise of go ahead. never once did they mention licensing or violation.
again, just my observation/interpretation, not to be considered fact...

Subject: [IMail Forum] Does Imail licensing allow an additional instal for backup MX purposes?

I was just wondering if the licensing for Imail Server 6 allows you to install another copy of Imail for backup mx purposes only?  I've emailed Imail support as well, but they generally take several days to answer, if at all, so I thought I'd check here as well.
