>Ok, let me put this idea out and maybe someone has a bright idea to help. >I need to capture EVERY piece of mail relayed through mail.MyDomain.com
ah, why didn't you say so initially. imail has a global bcc option. note: this doubles the Imail delivery traffic You get all bcc'd mail in mailbox. see kb for filtering ideas for the bcc mailbox. IMGate also has global bcc, which would give you a) IMGate b) offload the bcc traffic. If your program is perl, then Imgate could deliver the bcc to a local-to-imgate mailbox where you could do the mail processing in PERL. there are some very complete modules for SMTP in PERL. Another mail-processing tool available on *nix would be procmail. There is another procmail-like proggy that was simpler to use, but I can't remember the name. >So... any ideas on how I could capture all incoming mail, progmatically >mangle it, and pass it off again all from within the comfort of Imail? hmm, not having powerful mail-processing tools in Imail and Win32 isn't very "comfortable". Your DNS idea, as you found, was a non-starter. wildcards in DNS are very tricky and hard to predict the results, as with CNAMEs.
