Heinrich,  I still want to work on this with you, so please see if you
can hunt down the offending message. Per RFC 1123, and as respected by
this   Imail  list  and  every  other  one  I've  ever  been  on,  the
Return-Path:  header  of  list  messages (via the envelope MAIL FROM:)
should  be set as the list owner's account. Then, when bounce messages
are  routed from a null sender (<>) to the Return-Path: address, these
bounces should go harmlessly into the owner's mailbox.

Problems  can  arise  if  intermediate  MUAs  or  MTAs  put  their own
Return-Path:  header  in,  since it is rarely overwritten. What MUA(s)
are  you  using  to  post  to  your list? Again, try to track down the
messages in question and I'll take a look.
