>Presently our Imail server host is mail.dmpnet.com.
first mistake!! should be dmpnet.com, alias mail.dmpnet.com > We have an alias that lets us address mail to > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] Recently we purchased the > domain name dmp.com. I would like to set up an alias so that any mail > sent to <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] ends up in the corresponding > <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED] mail box. Eventually, in a year > or so, the dmpnet.com domain will be dropped. > >I haven't been able to make an alias that does what I want. We can't fix it if you don't tell us what's broken > What do I need to do to get this working? in dns, I assume you have dmpnet.com zone working, so in dmp.com zone file: dmp.com. mx 10 mx.imailbox.com. mail.dmp.com. mx 10 mx.imailbox.com. That will get the internet mail delivered to imail's ip address. In imail, in the dmpnet.com setup, it has these aliases: mail.dmpnet.com, dmp.com, mail.dmp.com. caveat emptor :)) Len http://MenAndMice.com/DNS-training http://BIND8NT.MEIway.com : ISC BIND 8.2.4 for NT4 & W2K http://IMGate.MEIway.com : Build free, hi-perf, anti-abuse mail gateways Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
