What is meant by "There is no "integration" with IMail, any properly configured SMTP server will work." What I worried about is what happens with IIS/SMTP and CDONTS with IMail, they don't play well together. Imail needs port 25 so does SMTP Services with IIS.
Do you use both ASPMail and Imail on the same IIS box? This concerns me "you should have no problems.". My Imail email domains (all set on individual IP's) work great, but I need to e-mail from the websites themselves. I also do not want to open my mail server up to a 'open-relay' condition for just sending out on STMP. Thanx for the input. It's dirt simple to install and code for, and includes a lot of nice optional features if you go with the pay version (it's $99, but if you do a lot of emailing via .asp, it's well worth it). You just point it to an SMTP server and go. There is no "integration" with IMail, any properly configured SMTP server will work. If your IMail SMTP service is setup and working right, you should have no problems. Make sure your web server has relay permissions (relay for addresses in Imail) if you need to send mail to anyone not local on your Imail server, otherwise the mail will be denied at the Imail server. I did look at the CDONTS objects docs before (as I recall they were quite a pain the the a$$), that's when I bought ASPEmail. My time alone was worth it. - Tony Gray Intouch Comm. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Christopher > Lynn > Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2002 6:02 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [IMail Forum] CDONTS/IS SMTP and Imail > Importance: High > > > My server has IIS5.0 and IMail 7.05 and I can't get the SMTP > Virtual server > on IIS to work.
