No -- it only scans the E-mail in real time, as it arrives. It can't go

That's correct. It doesn't know the (proprietary) format of the IMail
mailboxes, so it isn't able to do anything except let you know that it
found a virus in there.

There isn't any way to easily remove viruses from the mailboxes. Some AV
programs will detect some viruses within the mailbox, but it would require
a specially written program to detect all viruses already in a mailbox at
to remove them.
