FWIW......

I, too, had problems opening attachments from web messaging. I was testing with .pdf
files. I was able to open the attachments by saving them and opening them directly
with Acrobat Reader, but they would not open directly from IE/Web Messaging. If I
clicked on the file, Acrobat would start and the the file would open. So I knew my
file associations were or seemed correct. I even called Ipswitch and got connected to
a senior tech in a surprisingly short amount of time. I was then put on speakerphone
and other techs got involved. No resolution, though.

For the heck of it, I continued looking into it when I got home and the same
messages/attachments that gave me problems at work were fine at home.

I ended up reinstalling Acrobat Reader and all is well. I guess with all of the stuff
that I install and uninstall on my workstation.......anything goes. I've now built a
workstation that I can rebuild to a clean and known good configuration that I can use
for testing.

: I am currently having some issues with random users opening up
: attachments and getting garbage. I have applied the latest patches
: to Imail, browser.cap file has the appropriate modifications
: specified by ipswitch as does the system registry file. We use
: Netscape, IE 5.5, and web messaging. I feel like it is an issue
: with the individual machine and not the server. Anybody else have
: this problem.
