I'm sure Len will give you more specific details.  But my setup runs FreeBSD
and Qmail with qmail-scanner and spamassassin.  The hard drive space is
trivial, nothing is really kept on that server... it may spool some... but
basically it's an In-Out situation.

The RAM.. well.. it's SO CHEAP now... you might want 256 megs just for S&Gs.

As for the CPU, my setup is an Athalon 850 and it pegs the CPU at 100% when
it's hit with a burst of list server traffic. Plus PPro200s are hard to find
these days...just get the best deal you can on a CPU.  I bet Pentium 600s
are cheap.

I have a dual PPro200 box with 256 megs of ram sitting in a closet... you
may have something laying around that'll work fine.

Yes, Unix is that much more efficient.
