That's because PTR entries are reverse DNS entries, and take an IP and 
return a hostname.  So hostmail.varsitycontractors.com can't have a PTR record.

Also, the DNS servers used for varsitycontractors.com may well be different 
than the DNS servers for your IP(s), so it's quite possible that your DNS 
servers may not know about the PTR record, even if it does exist.

To find out if a PTR record exists, you need to use the IP address.  This 
could be done through nslookup or dig, for example, or using the Reverse 
DNS lookup at http://www.DNSstuff.com (which also shows you how the lookup 
is done).
