Don't specify if server is W2K, if it's. Try adding more DOS RAM.
I've to make you a question.
- If you generate it with your SQL-server, why have you got to scan it
for viruses?
- Can you try with another machine without Declude on it? (It hasn't got
to have any bigger hard disk, just a clon machine with 256Mb cheap ram and a
10Gb Hard disk (no selling smaller, now)
- If not, try increasing DOS memory, and NEVER INCREASE THE MAXQUEUEPROC,
as this will cause the imail to open more processes, and catch more RAM, and
this will make you crash sooner.
This is the way: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Subsystems
Change SharedSecton=1024,3072 for 1024,3072,2048 (This third number is
the memory assigned to the heap size for desktop associated with
non-interactive window stations).
The last number on this registry value, is the max number of processes
that can be on the machine (MaxRequestThreads=), the machine hangs, because
it can't generate more processes, and Microsoft have a workaround that will
give no process to anybody that interact with the user (but if Microchof
opens a pop-up telling you an interactive process don't work, let me laught
the workaround is a piss).
Increase the number of MaxRequestThreads, too, as this can aid not
hanging the machine, when it begins this issue, but the best thing to do is
the increase of the memory, and hope you'll not see the pop-up window again.

I got a problem using Imail as a gateway. I will try to explain the
situation:
We are running a site where over 150.000 users are subscribed. These people
get a personalized newsletter every month.
The newsletter will be created by the SQL server and will then be sent (via
microsoft SMTP) to the mail server (imail).
The mail server will send all of it to the subscribers(outbound).
The problem occurs when the SQL server machine is sending all the mail to
the mail server. the SMTP32.EXE gives the following error:

This popup comes up about 100 times and, if unmanaged, it will crash the
server totally.
I have tried serveral workarounds yet, including increasing page-file,
increasing MaxQueueProc, declude's queue and 'mistery heap' workaround. All
without a good result. That's why i'm posting it here, hoping someone could
solve this problem.
I have reset MaxQueueProc to 30 again.
The specs of the system are: PIII 1 Ghz, 1.5 GB Ram, 32 GB HDD (Dell
poweredge)
