Terry (and all)

Tried something different this morning when I came in .....normally when I
open outlook I will click on Send/Receive...
this morning I did nothing and let the mail come down on its own...Only
received one copy of each email.....Still a mystery
as to why it started to act like that to begin with...but will use this as a
learning tool !!!
Thanks to everyone for their input..

Rich,

I'm not saying there cannot be IMAIL specific issues only that the
client has to keep track of messages on the server. In fact it has to
know which messages it has already downloaded and which messages it
should mark for delete because the date of the message has exceeded
the time the client has been instructed to retain the messages on the
server.

So if the client uses a scheme for instance of keeping track of
messages that use a unique message id from the sever and IMAIL's
unique message id is incompatible with that method then all sorts of
things can happen.

But I don't know how the client(s) keep track or how they compare
dates and I don't really know how IMAIL handles message numbers and
uidl either. I'm not saying that is happening - just giving an
example. As far as I know though IMAIL is mol rfc compliant in this
regard but I'm surely open to correction and teaching.
