IMGate has reduced spam by at least 70% by my calculation on our ISP. I only had to
make a few changes, specifically with the FQDN check for the helo/ehlo command since
quite a few administrators seemingly are oblivious to the fact that they need a DNS
entry corresponding to the network name of their mail server. That check alone caused
twenty or thirty calls within days including a few teachers at schools trying to send
e-mail to their home acct on our ISP. The schools around here are the worst with open
relay and misconfigured mail servers.

Thanks again Len. And now for yet another question ;-). I've seen bits and pieces of
information regarding AVGate as a supplement to IMGate (anti-virus), however, I
haven't seen anything in detail. I simply need a template, or a point in the right
direction to get the ball rolling. I'm still learning Unix, but know my way around
enough that with a little grease I can make it work. I'm trying to figure out which
AV solution to go with, and trying to find any AV/proxy (front-end, middle-man) or
what not to use in conjuction with the AV soft. I'm assuming that the proxy would
store/av_check/forward to Postfix. Any ideas? TIA

BTW, a few IMGate stats: (typical estimate based on a 7-day log period with roughly
1200 users)

Number of e-mail messages rejected by RBL per day: 2215
Number of e-mail messages rejected by invalid host per day: 129
Number of e-mail messages rejected by content per day: 11

Which brings to mind yet another question. Has anyone release a log analyzer for
postfix. I love the one IPSwitch just released.
