I am running iMail 6.06 on a Win 2000 Adv Server. I am fairly new in this
position, and I understand the installation was customized.
I have 1000+ virtual hosts, with about 15,000+ end-users. One user on one
domain has claimed he has received 30+ emails addressed for another user and
domain on the same server (2 totally different domains, and the end-users
claim they have never e-mailed each other before.)
-userA@domainA says he received userB@domainB 's email one day. He
deleted all the mail, but sent notification to the other user. Thus, I have
nothing to go on but their word.
The only link I can find between the two is they reside on the same server.
Looking through the logs for the day in question, I see mail being retrieved
for both users. I did notice that userB@domainB seemed to send out a few
emails to multiple recipients, and some of those recipients forwarded mail
to another account, but I could not find a connection from any forwarded
account to userA.
There are no forwards for the accounts in question, and there are no aliases
set up either. The DB is an external SQL DB, and I have checked the table
names each writes to.
I don't see how this can be possible without some type of forwarding..has
anyone else ever run across anything like this before?
Thanks,
