>Intel ATA66 motherboard

If your motherboard only supports ATA66, you are going to cause a bottle
neck reading and writing to the hard drive. The HD should be on a
controller separate from other slower peripherals, such as a CD-ROM and
ZIP drive.

>ATA 80GB hard drive

I hope that is ATA 100 7200 RPM

>I formatted the drive with a 12 GB system partition, 4 GB partition
for the apps, 4 GB partition for the spool and the rest for the
mailboxes.

What about the page file? For better performance, it should be on its
own partition.

With only one hard drive, you are adding some bottle necks, although
that may not affect you with your load.

But it would be highly recommended to at least put in a second hard
drive and mirror the partitions. For that you get better read write
performance and protection against hard drive failure.

Good luck.
