Dennis,

Are you using both nics? I ran into the same problem on my Dell 2550. I
resolved the problem by turning off one of the nic cards. I think there is
an updated driver for the Broadcom nic's as well. I also remember that
Ipswitch has a KB article about multi-homed systems. After reading that KB
article I turned off one of the nics and I haven't had any problems.

Subject: [IMail Forum] NICS going to sleep!

I've got a fresh Dell Poweredge 2650 machine running with on Windows 2000
Server, Imail 7.12. Since last Tuesday I've been plagued by my NIC's going
to sleep. The box cannot be pinged nor can it ping the outside world unless
rebooted. The only place I'm noticing errors in my logs are in my
SYSMMDD.TXT:

08:12 08:12 SMTPD(00CE011E) [0.0.0.0] connect 63.226.16.127 port 21509

08:12 08:14 SMTPD(00D1011E) [0.0.0.0] connect 35.9.5.23 port 58959

and my W#YYMMDD.LOG file:

20020812 081146 Socket Error - 12.255.38.101 Error while writing sockect due
to error 10054 or malicious connection type.
20020812 081146 Socket Error - 12.255.38.101 Error while writing sockect due
to error 10054 or malicious connection type.
20020812 081146 Socket Error - 12.255.38.101 Error while writing sockect due
to error 10054 or malicious connection type.

Windows 2000 does NOT record any errors in its event logs. Any thoughts or
suggestions greatly apprecited.
