I have been asked to move from GroupWise 5.5.5 to IMail 7.1. It appears that there are no migration tools. Does anyone have any ideas on how to move email (inbox/sent items/folders/etc) from GroupWise to IMail other than simply forwarding everything?
Thing only thing I can think of (have not thought it through completely) is to pull the GroupWise email into an Outlook client (with Novell's GroupWise 5.5 Plug-in for MS Outlook) and try to store it locally (POP instead of IMAP). Then change the Outlook client setup to access the IMail server. That way, theoretically, all their email will be in the "same place" but if they delete one of their old (GroupWise) messages it will be gone forever, as opposed to deleting their new (IMail) messages which should be recoverable with a previous night's server backup. If anyone has any thoughts or experience, please let me know.
