I have a customer attempting to send mail to another site using IMAIL 7.11
AND receive rejects due to:
501 unacceptable mail address
The kb seems to point to a restriction using spaces in MAIL FROM field when
'check valid sender' is enabled. However the RFC seems to indicate that
spaces ARE allowed when enclosed in quotes. For example:
MAIL FROM:<"John Smith"@remotedomain.com>CRLF
^=space
While I understand how undesirable this form is, it doesn't appear to be
illegal? In my example the actual address is even more complex to handle
reverse lookups. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to get
around this? How does IMAIL 7.11 server treat addresses in quotes?
Thanks
Paul Putong
