You're going to need to learn how, if you are running a mailserver.  <G>

It depends on the mail client, but usually there is a checkbox that says 
"My server requires authentication" that you need to check.

That's fine, but you need to find out why IMail thinks it is a local 
account.  That's a bad thing.  It may be *your* account, but if IMail 
thinks that charter.net is a local domain, you'll never be able to send 
mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], for example.  You'll need to do some research 
to see if IMail is trying to accept all mail to @charter.net.

The "Domain Name Server Address" entry must be the IP address of a DNS 
server (you can have multiple IPs, separated by spaces).  It can be the 
Charter DNS server, or a local DNS server.  But if you can't ping that IP 
from your IMail server, you won't be able to use it (unless you're dealing 
with a paranoid admin that turns off ICMP in their firewall, in which case 
you'll need to use nslookup or dig to see if the DNS server is reachable 
from the IMail server).
