For the major offenders like myfunsleuth, azoogle, and lamailer why bother with this? Just block the ips and be done with it. I was doing this before I started using IMGate because I was tired of blocking ips. My logfiles were 70 to 100 megs a day and every time someone had a problem I had to search them. I was using Declude (great product) and a 67KB rules file. My hardware could handle it but if I had it do do over I would just block them and be done with it.
Now I use IMGate and life is sweet. ImGate rejects most of the spam before it gets to the Imail server and Declude gets most of whats left. My logfiles are less than 20 megs, my 67 KB rules file is like 6 KB and most mail problems are simple because the sender gets a bounce message instead of their message disappearing into thin air.
