Hi list I need your advise in regard of the port assignment of IMail and IIS. We run IMail webmail on port 80 and IIS (serving the images) on a different one.
Now we will switch to a new box. After having a look at MS's URLscan tool the question arose whether it would be better to run IIS (with URLscan) on port 80. Currently we have IMail webmail on port 80 and IIS serves the images from a different port. IMail is constantly being hammered for Code Red - stuff. I wonder whether the performance would be increased with IIS on port 80 (and URLscan filtering all the crap) ? At least, IMail webmail would receive much less requests. What do you think about that?
