A lesson to all who think "unattended" mailboxes are not subject to the same restrictions as others. What I'd first suggest is trying to find a text editor that can open at least some of the file, then save it into multiple small MBXs and let IMail recreate the indices. Failing that, Google for a "file splitter" that is designed to split a file across multiple media (say, to CD-ROM size). These products, if well-written, should suffice; when they're finished, again let IMail create the indices. Note that if you can't get that the files to split precisely between messages, you will lose a partial message from the first side, and on the second side you should add a redundant "From " line to give IMail a kickoff point.
