I am running a Win2K Server SP3 with IMail 7.13 HF2 w/Declude Virus/JunkMail 1.65 We
run two Virus Scanners with Declude called F-Prot 3.12c and InoculateIT 6.0 SP1 We
have this strange issue that occurs every few days. Once the machine has been
rebooted all is well, I can use the Browser, PING, FTP, etc. After a few days
(nothing listed in the Event Log), I can no longer Browse any Internet pages, nor can
FTP work, however, I can PING any website via name and IP (i.e. www.yahoo.com). With
this in mind, the signature files cannot get updated (my main concern). What is even
stranger, all requests from the outside (my clients) can login to this server and get
their email through WebMessaging, POP3/SMTP works, my terminal connection works. The
only thing that does not work is the ftp requests from my scanners and the ability to
go to the Internet in IE. We have replaced the NIC card in this machine (now using a
3COM, was using the Internal IBM NIC), but problem appears under both cards now. This
is very puzzeling. Has anyone seen this? The only thing I can think of is that
F-Prot and Inoc may not be playing nice together, however, both RealTime scanners have
either been disabled or were not installed. Thanks for any aid?
