Before rattling off a slew of sizing recommendations, we should have
more info:

     - ISP or corporate

     - # of corporate sites

     - % of intrasite vs. intersite traffic

     - Ability to regulate mailbox sizes, transfer, et al.

     - Ability to manually partition mailboxes across hardware

     - Site-specific/custom delivery restrictions (i.e. CIPA)

     - Current systems envt and access patterns, including MUAs

     - Current bandwidth and storage metrics

     - Reasons for migration (technical and political)

     - POP3, SMTP, IWEBMSG, IWEBCAL, IMAP4 expected distribution

     - OS preference for utility servers (anti-spam, anti-virus)

     - Budgets/stages

I'm most curious about the possibility that there are 100,000 users
currently using e-mail who don't have a mail admin--is this what
you're saying in the last paragraph? Anyway, let us know the fuller
picture. And if there are any components that won't be inherited and
will be installed from scratch, you need to let us know your
preferences as integrator to avoid our needless axe-grinding wherever
you can. :)
