HI again Wayne, Good advice but....
I have noticed one particular spammer who tries us regularly always uses a different IP address. They must run some kind of trace on our server since as soon as one of our clients has finished sending/receiving mail then he's there with the host name and the dial-in allocated IP address just used by the client. If I were to "block" that IP address then I would also block my client(s) at some point when that address was re-allocated. Allen One thing that you can do is sign up with Spam Cop http://spamcop.com And then submit your Spam Headers to them, Once you get the Spam processed letter back from Spam Cop, Go to the page, and check out the IP Address that is originated from, Then go into your [Modify Access Table - smtpd32] And add the IP Address in that the Spam come from, This is what we are doing, and it seems to work out pretty good. As for block the actual domain... @somedomain.com ... This is fine, but I have noticed that in over 99% of the spam that you will receive, is not coming from that domain to begin with, that blocking the IP Address's is more sensible, And also? If you find out that someone can not send mail to your Mail Server, due to them being on this IP Address that has been blocked, then chances are you have just captured your Spammer. This we have had happen 2 times in the last year. Works for us, And we do not use no software, BUT, have head allot of good things about Declude, and are thinking about possibly giving it a test drive.
