Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Migration from IMail 7.13 to Exchange 2000

Denise we are in getting started with this task except that we will be using Exchange 5.5 (licensing costs are substantially lower).  This is mainly due to the expense of adding support for public calendars and folders with 3rd party products for I-Mail.

BTW - If you haven’t purchased the 2K version yet I would wait until August if you can as the .NET version will be out by then and 2K’s licensing costs will drop a bit.

IN ZONE hosts about 5 different domains with I-Mail and it does seem to perform well for the small network that we have (240 users).  The mailbox setup part is rather simple.  In order to make this as painless as possible we are doing it one domain at a time.  I-mail isn’t broken so we are in no hurry to create more work for ourselves.

If your only using one domain then it doesn’t allow any margin of delay once you pull the switch.  Feel free to contact me off list to discuss further as this is a huge ordeal that cannot be summed up into a few paragraphs.

Has anyone done this - more importantly is there any documentation on moving users from IMail to Exchange 2000.  I know it's a dumb question - how many who have migrated to Exchange would still be reading the IMail forum, but I thought I would try...
