That's why he called it a "spool and forward" server. Luis never said anything about the secondary being a mailbox server. He made his setup completely clear to me: it's a traditional store-and-forward backup MX, good advice for Orin. Can't see what you get by calling him out on his supposed contradictions. - He has a store-and-forward backup that relays to/for the primary with a long queue lifetime. - He has a policy of letting the mail get stored on the backup for up to 24 hours while they try to fix the original primary server. - If the primary can't be fixed in 24 hours, they'll unplug the broken primary, plug in a new box and restore IMail and the userbase from backup. - Paramount are the "domains, users, and passwords." Presumably, if they can access the MBXs, they'll transfer them as well. If you weren't sure about the post and thought he had his secondary set up as a mailbox server, you could have tested (I did, since I couldn't imagine what had given you that idea).
