We just had a thread on this on the IMGate list. They're working fine. :-). It's more of a process issue as I have editors that would rather email the review documents (very large Framemaker files) instead of using the FTP servers.Attachments are not logically separated from the rest of the message body in IMail's size limits, but in practical terms you can get pretty close. Are they not working for you?
1. if people ask for really big attachments, then "do a deal" and tell them "ok. You get big file attachments, but you must .zip them". .pdf and Framemaker files are fairly compressible.
2. If you tell them "10 MB max" on their disk, that inflates in MIME encoding by roughly 4/3. So at your SMTP plumber's level, your limit needs to be 15 MB, not 10 MB.
