I think you're confused about what you would need to implement this at
the  disk  level:  the  accounts  that  access the disk are the daemon
service accounts, and there is no IIS-style pass-through impersonation
of any sort.

No   matter,   though,  because  what  you're  suggesting  could  have
catastrophic  effects  on  IMail's  operation, as the product does not
have  complete error-trapping for I/O errors, nor would you be able to
create   the   appropriate   exceptions   for  ALIASES.TXT  and  other
non-mailbox files.

In  sum,  use Keith's method, which is well-thought-out and makes good
technical and business sense.
