What are all of these connects log entries? First time I ahave even seen
this in the logs. It stops mysteriously around 7:00am. IN the meantime it
loosk like mail passes in and out.
It looks like this is just the IMail Monitor monitoring service, which is set to run once a minute to make sure the SMTP service is set up. That wouldn't explain why it ends at 7:00am, however.

02:10 00:00 SMTPD(07D700D0) [207.228.46.66] connect 207.228.46.66 port 3984
02:10 00:01 SMTPD(07D900D0) [207.228.46.66] connect 207.228.46.66 port 3988
02:10 00:02 SMTPD(07DF00D0) [207.228.46.66] connect 207.228.46.66 port 3992
02:10 00:03 SMTPD(07E100D0) [207.228.46.66] connect 207.228.46.66 port 3996
02:10 00:04 SMTPD(07E300D0) [207.228.46.66] connect 207.228.46.66 port 4000
These lines just indicate an incoming SMTP connection. However, since they are spaced out once a minute, and coming from the IP address of your IMail server, I'm guessing the IMail Monitor.
