I recently started
implementing rules in order to deal with the SPAM coming into our servers and
started seeing some odd results. First, occasionally I receive the same
message two or three times and this happens for multiple messages and the time
stamps are all identical. Second, some mail does seem to slip past the
rules.ima file. So I have some questions if anyone might be able to
help.
1. How does the rule
processing work? If I edit rules.ima do I need to restart any services on
the mail server?
2. Is there a
limit in terms of the number of rules that one can have?
3. Anyone have any
ideas as to what might be causing the duplicate messages?
My rules.ima file
looks something like:
F~stopspammer.com:NUL
F~ihatespam.com:NUL
B~porn:NUL
I am running 7.0.7
and do not have too many users so we probably get around 500 messages a day
into the server.
